                                             Public Records Request Guideline

The West Warwick Housing Authority adheres to the Access to Public Records Act (RIGL §38-21-1, et. seq.) and has instituted the following procedures for the public to obtain public records of the West Warwick Housing Authority.

The regular business hours of the West Warwick Housing Authority are 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

To reach the housing authority by phone call (401) 822-9430 and follow instructions to reach the Office of the Executive Director. Requests for records may also be mailed to the housing authority’s administrative office at: 62 Robert Street, West Warwick, RI 02893.

Requests will also be accepted at the housing authorities administrative office personally

You are not required to provide identification or the reason you seek the information, and your right to access public records will not depend upon providing identification or reasons.

In order to ensure that you are provided with the public records you seek in an expeditious manner, unless you are seeking records available pursuant to the Administrative Procedures Act, or other documents prepared for or readily available to the public, we ask that you submit your request in writing and be as specific as possible. You should cite the document sought, the date on which it was created (or approximate date), and any other information that will assist in the identification of the document(s) sought.

The Access to Public Records allows a public body ten business days to respond, which can be extended an additional twenty days for good cause.

If you feel you have been denied access to public records, you have the right to file a review petition with the RI Attorney General. You may also file a lawsuit in Superior Court.

The West Warwick Housing Authority is committed to meeting the needs of the public in an expeditious and courteous manner.
