WEST WARWICK HOUSING AUTHORITY RELEASES

THE RESULTS OF RESIDENT SURVEY

The West Warwick Housing Authority released the results of surveys conducted with residents of their two developments on Friday.
The surveys were part of the housing authority’s first strategic long-range strategic plan. The plan included conducting situational analysis, which involves looking at all current conditions at the organization and identifying their internal strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and challenges.

The resident surveys, which took place at West Warwick Manor and Clyde Tower involved distributing 185 surveys (74%) of the resident population. The response rate was 68% at West Warwick Manor and 52% for Clyde Tower.
Residents overwhelmingly expressed their satisfaction at both developments.

  • 95% of resident at West Warwick Manor stated they were Very Satisfied/Satisfied with their apartments. At Clyde Tower the numbers were 86% Very Satisfied/Satisfied.
  •  92% of residents at West Warwick Manor were Very Satisfied/Satisfied with their building. The corresponding numbers at Clyde Tower were 88% Very Satisfied/Satisfied.
  • 87% of residents at West Warwick Manor stated they were Very Satisfied/Satisfied with the property management. Clyde Tower residents were 86% Very Satisfied/Satisfied with their property management.
  • When asked if they would recommend their developments to their family or friends 85% of West Warwick Manor residents and 74% of Clyde Tower stated yes.

The survey covered numerous topics, including: Overall satisfaction, Maintenance and Repairs, Communications. Safety, and Housing Property Appearance. The ratings received from residents were positive for every category.

O’Rourke, the Authority’s Executive Director. “With the completion in August of our strategic plan, I can assure our residents and other stakeholders that they will see continuous improvement as we implement the plan.

The WWHA was founded in 1962 and manages 250 units of public housing and over 160 units of Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers. WWHA is home to approximately 275 elderly and disabled residents.
